Now in his 16th year as the Director of Tennis for the Wake Forest Tennis Center, Tamer has been running camps at Wake Forest since the summer of 2001. Throughout the year, Tamer conducts both individual and group lessons/clinics for children of all ages as well as adults. He is a PTR certified tennis professional, and a graduate of Old Dominion University.
Before coming to Wake, he worked for several years at the Dennis Van Der Meer Tennis Academy in Hilton Head, South Carolina where he served as the Head Professional and Director of Player Development. He also served as the Director of Junior Summer Camps at Sweet Briar College in Virginia.
A co-director of the tennis camps at Wake Forest since 2011, Andy has been both a lead instructor and in charge of dormitory life. He returns in both roles this summer. Andy is a certified USPTA teaching professional and taught junior and adult tennis for several years before becoming a collegiate coach. Andy is also the Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach at Wake Forest, and he was named Assistant Coach of the Year for the Carolinas Region in 2015. He works extensively on an individual basis with players and doubles teams that have earned national collegiate rankings, qualified for the NCAA Championships, and earned All-ACC recognition.
A standout collegiate player, Andy was an All-American while playing at Glendale Community College, and number one singles player and team captain at Cal Poly Pomona before playing on the professional circuit where his most notable singles win came against Sam Querrey.
Daneika joins the staff this year after serving as an assistant coach to the WFU women's tennis program this year. Previously, she was the assistant women's tennis coach at Columbia University. She is a graduate of Florida State University where she played #1 singles all 4 years, made the NCAA Championships twice and earned All-ACC First Team honors 3 times. She has a career high WTA ranking of 820 in singles and finished 2018 ranked 534 in doubles after winning her first pro circuit title in doubles at the $25K event in Redding, California earlier in 2017.
A co-director of the tennis camps at Wake Forest since 2011, Jeff is also now in his 6th year as the Head Women’s Coach at Wake Forest. A former tennis player at Yale University, Jeff is a USPTA Professional Level One certified instructor, and besides his current coaching position at Wake, he has coached collegiately since 1994 including 5 years where he coached both the men’s and women’s Division I programs at Fairfield University in Connecticut.
He was the first tennis coach in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference history to earn Coach of the Year honors as both a men’s and women’s coach. A former mathematics teacher for grades 8-12, and an experienced high school tennis and basketball coach, Jeff is experienced with instructing players of all ages and abilities.
